The address is Rose Cottage, Nottwood Lane, Stoke Row, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 5PZ
By Car
Stoke Row is approximately 9 miles North of Reading and 6 miles Northwest of Henley. Take the B481 from Reading or Nettlebed. Turn west at the top of the hill after passing Sonning Common Garage (from Reading) or at Highmoor. Drive into Stoke Row and take the turning to the right immediately after the Cherry Tree Pub (Nottwood Lane), an old type of phone box is on the junction. Turn into this narrow lane and Rose Cottage is at the bottom of the hill, the gate is made of white metal railing, and can be opened by pressing the small red button on it.
If you get to the ‘Crooked Billet’ you have gone one too far. It is hard to turn into my driveway coming from that direction; the road loops back onto the main road so it is easier to drive all the way round and start again.
Public transport
Public transport is poor – buses to Stoke Row run infrequently, for details see Whites Coaches, number 145). Reading station is only 20 minutes away and has a taxi rank outside it. I may be able to collect you if you are bringing bikes on the train.
